Located inside the Carrefour in Yongkang, Tainan, "Stone II Pot" is a chain hotpot restaurant. I particularly enjoy their stone pot; the staff first sauté garlic, onions, and other spices in a dry pot to bring out the fragrance before serving, which makes the broth incredibly aromatic and richer than typical hotpots. This time, I ordered the pork stone pot, and the marbling of the pork was evenly distributed, complemented by the fragrant broth. The meat was tender, and the soup was delicious. I especially added fish tofu, one of the restaurant's signature dishes; its texture was soft and elastic, and I recommend everyone to try it.
As for drinks, the winter melon lemon slush was refreshing and helped with the richness of the meal; its sweet and sour balance was just right, adding a lot of refreshing flavor to the hotpot experience. I also ordered beef balls, but three pieces cost 55 TWD, which felt somewhat unreasonable considering the portion size; it seemed too expensive for that quantity.
Worth mentioning is that when I visited six months ago, due to price increases and a decline in the quality of vegetables, my impression of this place had worsened, and I felt that it might be on the decline. However, on this visit, I noticed an improvement in quality; the vegetables were fresh, and the overall standard had returned to its original state. Although prices have risen, if the quality can be maintained, it is still worth a try.
Overall, "Stone II Pot" performs well in terms of the aroma of the stone pot, the freshness of the ingredients, and the drinks. I recommend it!
