My friend has tried this series (Heikagoya Honke) and thought it was great, so this year they brought me here for my birthday meal. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Breeze Taipei Station, featuring a bar-like area and a seating area for four; it's not a large restaurant. Here are the dishes we had that day.

▪️Hot pot: Shabu-shabu
▪️Meat: Premium Japanese Wagyu Standard $1180 (165g)
·My friend used points to upgrade to large (220g) $1370
·Rice from Niigata Prefecture, Japan Standard
·Includes chef's special handmade beef balls
·Seasonal vegetable platter ·Special sauce
▪️Additional premium Japanese Wagyu 110g at an extra price of $488
(Promotion until 2024.11.30)
▪️Points redeemed for 2 Hokkaido scallops
·Original price: $90 each
▪️Egg zousui $80
▪️Peach umeshu $150/glass

I must say, the premium Japanese Wagyu served was truly beautiful! It had rich marbling, tender meat, and was delicious with sauce and white rice! The additional premium Japanese Wagyu came in four large slices, exceptionally rich in fat; one slice was more than enough, but it was also quite good. We also ordered some Japanese Wagyu (I forget the price) that looked and tasted quite different from the premium option, though it was still tasty. My friend ordered Sukiyaki, but I didn’t get to try it.

The Japanese white rice was very tasty, and the vegetable platter was abundant and made up of whole foods, while the beef balls were also good. My friend redeemed their points for sashimi-grade scallops, which were quite large and cooked perfectly medium-rare. There were many types of sauces, including yuzu soy sauce, black sesame, sesame sauce, and spicy sauce, all of which went well with vegetables and meat. I asked the staff about making porridge, and they said to order egg zousui; in the end, the staff came to cook it for us. The umeshu was also quite good.

Overall, while I can't eat too much Wagyu, my portion was too much for one person to finish alone; however, the quality of the meat was really outstanding. There weren’t many servers, so sometimes it was hard to find someone, but the service was very friendly. The process of using points for extras was a bit cumbersome, but if you want to enjoy Wagyu, I definitely recommend this place.
