Hidden in the alleys near Chinese medicine shops is an Italian restaurant that I feel is more like a family restaurant close to a residential area. It’s the kind of place where family and friends can gather on weekends to enjoy some good food, chat happily, and spend a relaxing ordinary evening together. 😌

☝🏻 In simple terms: generous portions, straightforward dishes, nothing extraordinary.

In relation to its price, the main dishes have good portion sizes 👍. The prices are quite friendly, with most main dishes costing around $200; you can find many under $250, and adding combo deals isn’t too expensive either. The menu items are all quite common and simple 😂. The flavors aren’t particularly impressive, but they meet the expected standard perfectly.

Despite being ordinary, I find myself wanting to return often after eating here.

The prices are affordable for a regular meal, and the taste and portions don’t leave you regretting your choice. If you want to break away from the usual lunchboxes and treat yourself to a different flavor or a little daily joy, you can come in and order your favorite pasta.

Given that, it seems like it could earn four stars, but I’m going to start deducting points now. 😂

Deduction Point 1️⃣ The air conditioning is not cool at all.
I initially thought the heat was just my illusion until the person at the table next to me also complained about the heat while eating a salad 😂. The restaurant isn’t hot enough to make you sweat, but the open kitchen, outdated air conditioning, and limited seating distance due to space constraints make it feel much warmer when everyone is eating hot food and chatting.

Deduction Point 2️⃣ The electricity seems very unstable.
Perhaps I’ve had some bad luck when eating out lately. During my meal here, the lights went out twice due to power failures (yes, the kind that leaves everything pitch black because of electrical overload). Eating in the dark? That’s definitely a point deduction. 😂

Deduction Point 3️⃣ My drink was so watered down…
I swapped my set meal drink for a cup of Calpis, and it was so dilute it felt like it was mixed with water! Honestly, I almost didn’t want to finish it.

Nevertheless, considering the main course's cost-effectiveness, I still think it’s worthy of another visit!
(As long as I don’t have to eat in the dark or suffer from the heat every time I visit).

Just a quick note on the restaurant’s rules: there’s a minimum charge ($200), a dining time limit (90 minutes), and no service charge.

👇 The rest is the meal review!

This time I had baked mushroom chicken penne for $210. Actually, the ceramic plate is surprisingly deeper than I expected! Usually, I finish one portion just right, but this time I felt full after eating 2/3 of it! The portion size feels larger compared to other places!
The chicken is not dry; it's tender and quite abundant. However, I think there could be a bit more mushrooms. Of course, the noodles are still the most plentiful!
Aside from the pizza, the main dishes all come with bread! It looks like a spiced bread (baked, crispy, and hard). What surprised me more was the sauce on the side! Great oil paired with good vinegar! It goes perfectly with the bread! (To be honest, I don't know what kind of oil and vinegar it is, but I think it’s really fragrant and delicious 😂)
You can see that there are still some spices in the bread. Even without sauce, the bread is very fragrant on its own! (But I think sauce is a must; that little bit is not enough to eat!) To be honest, if I could eat more, I would want to order another portion 😆
I ordered a single set meal +$70, which includes the soup of the day and a drink. The soup of the day was potato corn soup, simple and just what you would expect.👌
I have to say, this whole bowl of soup is basically just filled with ingredients 😎 I originally thought they might have thickened it too much, and maybe they did, but I didn’t really taste the thickening agent at all; instead, I was eating potatoes with every bite 🥔
Popcorn chicken! Fried snacks as a friend add-on (gift) It all depends on what fried snacks are offered that day; on the day I dined, I encountered popcorn chicken! Actually, there isn't an option for popcorn chicken on the menu. Did I just stumble upon a secret menu? 😎
6 pieces of chicken popcorn The outer skin is slightly crispy and hard, but there's still juice inside. Eating chicken popcorn gives a sense of guilty pleasure, but it's not as greasy as the ones from breakfast shops!
This consumption detail
It's this~~~~~regular activity! Oh right, you absolutely must use Wi-Fi at this store! The signal inside the old house is really bad, The internet is so poor that I almost couldn't use Linepay to make a payment, I was just relieved that I quickly switched to the store's Wi-Fi and finally got connected.
The very rare Calpis, just give him a picture here. Next time I should get some other drinks properly 😂
Here's the menu!
Although it's in an alley, there are actually signs and banners, so it won't be too difficult to find.
Store interior decoration
There are no obvious signs, but when you walk to the door, you can still tell that this is a restaurant. 👌
