This shop is very similar to those in the Shiding District of Taipei, Taiwan, because the mountain spring water is clear and suitable for making tofu products, and it is located in a scenic area as a tourist snack shop. There are plenty of seats, and the dining space is spacious. The overall environment is clean and comfortable, and the owner is quite warm and friendly. The prices are also much more affordable compared to restaurants.
The douhua (tofu pudding) itself is very soft and delicate, almost falling apart when touched. Perhaps because of the different water quality, it doesn't taste as sweet as Taiwanese douhua, but the texture is a bit more tender. Each table has ground peanut powder, so if you find it not sweet enough, you can add it yourself.
As for the fish balls, the skin feels like it is mostly made of starch, and there seems to be less fish paste, but paired with the curry, they are very tasty and stimulate the appetite. If it weren't for just having had breakfast, I would definitely order some starchy main dishes right away.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for those coming to see the Big Buddha; it's great for grabbing a bite to eat, and the prices are not high. So even if you come with a group, you can enjoy a satisfying meal within a limited budget.
