When I came to Chikama during dinner time, it was almost full; luckily I had made a reservation in advance, otherwise I would have had to wait for a long time.
This Chikma replaced the original barbecue restaurant and specializes in grilling and eating. In addition to just eating hot pot here, you can also choose to dine in roasted meat + hot pot, satisfying two wishes at once.
This time for three people to dine, we ordered two roast pork set meals and a hot pot set meal respectively. The soup bases were all stone pot bottoms, and the roasted meat part was enjoyed by everyone.
The first is the refrigerated harvested beef belly, which has quite a lot of fat and will keep dripping when grilled. The meat itself is of good quality, so I chose to pair it with the "Spicy Beef Sauce/Scallion/Onion". It's full of sweetness (almost not spicy), and it's very satisfy!
The other portion is Taiwan's carefully selected snowflake pig, which is well-balanced in fat and leanness, soft and juicy in texture; it suits the taste of everyone at our table.
Although the roasted pork is in small pieces, it is cut thicker and less likely to stick to the grill grid. I silently hope that the store provides sea salt so that I can enjoy the original flavor of the meat.
In the seafood collection of the hot pot set, all kinds of seafood are included; there are a lot of oysters, which are not fishy, which is a bonus; the soft silk noodles are suitable for soups and barbecues, and some sweet and sour sauces are added. It couldn't be more suitable; the shrimp and fish fillets were average; and the oysters were grilled by me, but they didn't taste sweet enough and the performance was not outstanding.
The stone soup base on the side is also boiling with the vegetables and hot pot ingredients we picked up from the buffet bar. The bottom of the pot is sauteed onions and minced garlic with sesame oil and then added with broth. It is very fragrant. All hot pot ingredients are filled with the aroma of the bottom of the pot.
The rich selection of drinks and as many as three brands of ice cream in the self-service area are dazzling. While enjoying the main meal, we deliberately left our stomachs to drink several drinks and eat several balls of ice cream. We felt like we wanted to try everything.
Overall, I was not impressed by the mid-range price of the restaurant. However, it is indeed suitable for general gatherings. You can eat hot pot and roasted meat at the same time, and enjoy both ways of eating at once.
