With media’s multiple complimentary vouchers, here we dropped by 古今二 Sukiyaki Restaurant located on the 5th floor in The One (朶溫) Shopping Mall. The restaurant has a long history and was founded in the early pre-economic depression period before interest blooming by fed, and it was evident as we slid opened the heritage wooden sliding doors, they screeched.

Our supper started with some appetisers to whet the palate, including a delicious plate of fresh slices of citrus fruits. Next up was the presentation of the wagyu beef, pork and vegetable platter. The meat was cooked by a us and was done Kansai-styled. The slab of meat fat was first used to polish the pan, before the meat was added. The sukiyaki sauce was then added to the meat and once cooked, it is dipped into various sorts of egg sauces. Our first bite and impression were how juicy the meat was, very flavourful and tender that it requires almost no effort to chew. We wanted more.

Well, will we return again? Definitely no if there’s no complimentary coupon — being insanely overpriced comparing with nearby similar restaurants was its obvious Achilles’ heel, and its music choices and services were its weaknesses as well. They were playing and looping a local pop music band’s Christmas songs by Twins. Omg!
