Beiping Road in the North District of Taichung is filled with a variety of delicious food, making it a hotly contested area! It has all kinds of common snacks and many options for international cuisine!
"Shile San Singaporean Snacks" is a newly opened Singaporean restaurant that has been quite popular lately, often packed with people and requiring a wait of about 20-40 minutes! I came specially to try it out! The overall decor of the restaurant feels minimalistic and trendy, dominated by white tones, and there’s a large lion head at the entrance, making it very recognizable! I waited about 20 minutes for a table after arriving, and once seated, I quietly waited for my food to be served!

Below are my simple food comments! Taste is subjective, and personal preferences vary! Friends passing by are welcome to give it a try!

🔸️ Dry Noodles $110 The noodles look rather thick, resembling a smaller version of udon. When served, the sauce has a rich aroma, complemented by the fragrant green onions on top. Inside the noodles, there are green vegetables and a half-cooked egg. The small dried fish on top seems to be seasoned similarly to XO sauce, adding spiciness and fragrance!

After stirring, I took a bite of the noodles, and the texture was very chewy. They wereQ弹 (springy) and not soft or mushy! The noodles themselves had a bit of curl, which was just right for absorbing the sauce. Overall, it had a nice salty-sweet flavor. 😋😋 I suggest that if you enjoy spicy food, you might want to order at least medium spicy for an even better taste!

The noodles are quite special as they contain two small pieces of meat. The texture is similar to the filling of a tangyuan, savory and delicious. Not bad at all~ 😊😊

The dry noodles come with a soup, and the broth has a quite fragrant pepper flavor. The meatballs inside have a texture similar to fish balls, slightly on the soft side. Overall, it's not bad, and the broth is fresh and sweet, making it delicious!

🔸️ Kaya Toast $70 The toast is baked to a very crisp texture, with a golden brown surface that looks very appetizing! The inside of the toast is a combination of salty butter and Kaya jam, creating a delicious sweet and salty flavor. The crispy toast enhances the rich layers of texture, making it incredibly tempting~ 😋😋 Highly recommended to order!
