Pingtung's old brand of spicy hot pot - Niuyuan Hot Pot has a history of seventeen years, with Pingtung as the main store and a branch in Tainan. The decor is of a traditional Chinese style, and the Yin Yang pot offers four types of soup bases: Sichuan spicy soup, Northeast pickled cabbage, rich milk, and golden bone broth. Tofu, duck blood, white rice, and congee can all be used without limit.
This time, the luxurious set meal for four could not be finished by five people. The meat platter is quite substantial, and the ingredients are very fresh. Their fried dishes amazed me; after frying, they are sprinkled with garlic, which is a perfect match. Indeed, eating meat without garlic loses half the flavor.
The spicy soup base is mildly spicy, and both the tofu and duck blood are very flavorful. The waitstaff diligently ask each table if they want to add soup or broth, and leftovers can be packaged to go.
