I'm Yang, and I enjoy taking casual photos of food.
Today, I'm introducing:
🗣️ The newly opened Huang Men Chicken Rice in the Beiqu area of Taichung.
🔺 Environment
As soon as you enter, you can see that drinks and white rice are free for self-service.
There aren't many seats, and it seems you can't make reservations.
The staff is very friendly; while I was waiting outside for my friend, one of the staff members came out to say it was okay for me to go in and wait.
🔺 Food
❣️ Lao Quan Cheng Huang Men Pork 💰170
The pork slices are quite large, but I found them a bit fatty, not really my type.
The ingredients include green peppers, mushrooms, potatoes, and black fungus, and the portions are quite generous.
The potatoes are flavorful and very delicious.
The sauce is good with rice, a bit salty and slightly sweet.
However, I might have had too high expectations after seeing reviews on Google, as it didn't feel amazing.
(I know the restaurant has a promotion for reviews that earn a drink, but there were still many serious and positive reviews, which made me really look forward to it before dining. 🤣)
🤗 Summary
The prices are affordable, and you don't have to worry about not being full with unlimited drinks and rice.
It was okay for me, but I don’t have many memorable points after eating.
My friend ordered the boiled beef; I don’t eat spicy food, so I didn’t try it.
He said the medium spiciness isn’t very spicy, and the heat is more on the fragrant side.
(There are fewer motorcycle parking spots nearby, so you have to be lucky to find a spot.)
There’s no comment yet.
