📍New Taipei City, Yonghe District (near Dingxi MRT Station)
A budget-friendly chain steakhouse 🥩🐃
I first heard about Xiao Shi Hou Steak from an unboxing video by a YouTuber.
Reservations are not accepted; you must queue at the entrance and can only enter when the number of diners is sufficient.
It's thoughtful that the restaurant informs customers that they do not limit dining time, considering that elderly people and children may eat slowly.
There are many options at the self-service bar, including corn chowder, cookies, ice cream, a soda machine, traditional milk tea, and black tea (recommended!).
Additionally, there is bread that you can spread with peanut butter, chocolate sauce, and garlic sauce.
The highlight is that there is unlimited curry rice 🍛! The curry has a rich, Japanese-style flavor; even I, who don't usually love curry, quietly finished almost a bowl 🤤.

Order items:
🥩 Xiao Shi Hou Steak, medium-rare, with mushroom sauce, fine noodles ($240):
The meat quality is a bit uneven; some parts are particularly tough while others are very tender. But overall, it’s quite delicious for a night market steak.
🦆 Vitality Crispy Duck Breast, no noodles, replace with double eggs ($355):
This is the most expensive item on the menu!
Highly recommend this dish 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The ordering page mentions that it uses duck from Yunlin.
The meat is very smooth, fresh, juicy, and not dry. I would want to order it again next time.
A small downside is that I feel it could be cooked a bit longer to render out some of the fat; the skin is a bit oily.
🍄
Would I return: Yes!
