Over the past two days, I went to Xingtian Temple for classes, which started at 10 AM. So beforehand, I looked for a well-rated breakfast place to check out, thinking that if I had a good meal, I'd be in a better mood and have the energy to face a full day of classes. 😭
Liangli Trading Company is located in an alley behind the Xingtian Temple station. The exterior is made of wooden materials, giving it a very Japanese-style small shop feel. It turns out a lot of Japanese tourists come here to dine!
The menu mainly features toast. Besides a series of grilled meat and egg options, they also have basic tuna and meat floss, as well as sweet toast. Personally, I really enjoy the slices of meat grilled over charcoal, which adds a unique smoky flavor compared to those cooked on a frying pan. I also ordered a cup of basic black tea. The food was served quickly, and the shop had the foresight to cut the toast in half, which was a plus; it made sharing easier and packing leftovers more convenient. The toast had a slightly toasted and crispy exterior, with fillings of meat slices and a soft-boiled egg. The meat slices were thin, and I liked the half-cooked egg as it gave a more moist texture. As for the black tea, it was typical of breakfast shops—sweet and a bit astringent. I only drank half a cup before I discarded it.
Overall, the dining environment was quite good. The prices are about 10 NT dollars more than ordinary breakfast shops, but considering it’s near the MRT station in Taipei, I think it's reasonable. The food was actually quite tasty, so if I happen to visit for worship and want a simple breakfast, I would come back again.
