🚩 Clean Noodle Shop in Taipei's East District: A Very Unique Business Style
The "Different Dry Noodles" shop is located in Taipei's East District, with the nearest MRT station being Zhongxiao Dunhua Station, Exit 2, about a 5-minute walk away. The exterior is striking with orange-red/white colors, and the sign's font is hard to describe. Inside, there's a big dining rule sign, indicating the owner is someone who values rules greatly (this shop's bulletin board even made the news). The dining area is spacious, with white walls, white tables, and orange chairs, providing a very clean and simple environment.
The ordering process involves seating yourself, filling out a paper menu, handing it to the counter, and paying upfront, with cash only accepted.
Today, my colleague ordered by phone first, then picked up the takeout at the shop half an hour later. We received the meal quickly.
Today I had the following:
Meatball Soup Noodles $85
The broth was light and simple, and the meatballs had a slightly premium texture, with an acceptable taste. However, the overall experience was somewhat bland.
Red Oil Wonton Dry Noodles $90
The wontons were flavored with a fragrant spice that wasn't too spicy. The dry noodles had a better texture than the soup noodles and were quite tasty.
Boiled Vegetables $45
Water spinach was used, featuring fine and tender leaves. The ingredients seemed good, but the price was still relatively high. Personally, I didn't like the garlic and fried shallot, so no extra points for me 😕
The quality and flavor of the food were decent, although the prices were on the high side, which is reasonable for a restaurant in the East District. Numerous explanation signs inside and outside the shop show that the owner values rules and safety, emphasizing that their food ingredients are high-cost. The owner also posts lengthy texts on Google Maps reviews and their Facebook fan page; I find it quite interesting 😂 (a human observation), but some customers might not accept this style. Consider this before visiting.
