The world-famous Mizushingen Mochi originating store! A traditional wagashi shop from Yamanashi 🍡

It became a worldwide sensation online about 7.8 years ago.
This dreamy dessert, which you would originally need to travel to a distant mountainous area to enjoy, can actually be found right next to Lake Kawaguchi in Fujiyoshida!
And it’s the official branch of the shop that created this dessert, KanSeiKen!

It is sold only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from June to September each year.
On days with good weather, this location offers a direct view of the vast Mount Fuji 🗻.
Additionally, the indoor seating area on the second floor opens only after 10 AM, and the seats there are very comfortable while offering a view of Mount Fuji!

I must mention that from 7 to 9 AM, there’s a hidden breakfast rice ball set available on the second floor. I couldn’t try it this time, so I couldn’t share it with the Fooday camera, but I highly recommend everyone to try it 🍙.

The Mizushingen Mochi is incredibly transparent and super smooth, it feels like you’re eating water (?). Each piece is ¥660, so if you get the chance, definitely give it a try!

This day happened to be at the awkward time of 9-10 o'clock, only outdoor seating was available, and it was very hot in the summer. However, if you're lucky, you can see the entire Mount Fuji.
Sometimes you can see the kitchen making wagashi.
Inside the store, there are many types of traditional Japanese sweets as souvenirs, and in the back, there are woven items from the Fujiyoshida area.
This baked bun is also very delicious! The skin is crispy, and it has a strong aroma of brown sugar!
