Usually, I don't eat KFC often because there's no KFC near my living area, and I only go if there's a particular dish I'm interested in.
This time, the new product is the Salsa Chicken Crisper Burger, which substitutes the hamburger bun with a chicken patty, filled with lettuce, cheese, hash browns, and served with salsa sauce. It’s quite satisfying to eat, and the sauce has a slight tang. Seeing the hash brown in the middle seemed a bit strange, but it didn't feel out of place when eating. As someone who enjoys meat, I think it's quite good, though by the end, it gets a little greasy.
I chose the green pepper crispy chicken, and I personally really like this flavor of fried chicken from them; the numbing and spicy taste of the Sichuan pepper is delicious.
Another highlight for me at KFC is their egg tarts. This time, I tried the brown sugar and glutinous rice egg tart. I think it’s okay, but I don't particularly like this flavor. When you order takeout, you can pay an extra dollar for another original flavor egg tart, which makes you super full.
I used to really enjoy their corn chowder, which I thought was the best-tasting among fast-food restaurants, but later it changed to taste very much like McDonald's corn soup, which I think is such a pity.
When picking up the order in-store, I was worried they might not notice the extra egg tart for +1 dollar, so I specifically asked if it was included. The staff checked the combo box and confirmed it was included. However, when I got home, I discovered that the missing item was actually the fries. I called to inform them, but since the restaurant is far away, I was too lazy to go back out. Later, they sent me a text message allowing me to redeem the item within two weeks and gave me an extra original egg tart, which I found acceptable.
