"Wagyu Shabu" is located on Section 2 of Zhonghua West Road in Tainan. It is a Japanese hot pot buffet restaurant under the Wang Pin Group, specializing in all-you-can-eat top-quality Wagyu beef and various meat options. Overall, the dining experience at this restaurant is quite good, with fresh ingredients, especially in the vegetable section. The self-service bar offers a variety of fresh vegetables, mushrooms, and hot pot ingredients, making the selection feel very rich and well-maintained.
I mainly came for the Wagyu this time. Although there are various hot pot broths available (such as scallop kelp soup, sukiyaki soup, and spicy mala soup), to be honest, I think cooking the Wagyu is more suitable for grilling. The shabu-shabu method makes the meat tender, but it lacks that smoky aroma and crispy texture from grilling, which is a bit of a pity.
Regarding the prices, lunch and dinner prices vary depending on the selection of meats. For example, the ultimate Wagyu and Angus beef sets are generally offered at around a thousand NTD, which is quite reasonable in terms of cost-performance.
In summary, Wagyu Shabu is a buffet restaurant that can satisfy most tastes, especially for friends who enjoy shabu-shabu. However, it must be emphasized that Wagyu should ideally be grilled!
P.S.: The taiyaki is very cute XD
