Otoya has always been one of the choices for those who don’t know what to eat in the dome. This time I went there around 12:30 on a Sunday and the store was completely full. With on-site reservation and waiting, people who want to go shopping can go first and come back when they are almost there.
I ordered a few dishes today and shared the limited-time salmon parent-child clay pot rice (400). This dish comes with side dishes, miso soup and chawanmushi. For the main course, we use fully cooked salmon and salmon roe, and add shredded egg and nori shreds to make it look like chirashi sushi.
I have to say that the salmon was cooked very well. It was not overcooked for a long time and the protein became hard and dry. It was not half-cooked. It was a delicious salmon that was just cooked. Because the salmon roe is pickled, it is slightly salty when eaten alone, so it needs to be paired with salmon. The egg shreds and seaweed provide aroma and different tastes, giving the whole a layered feel. The last part is the sauce. Since we are not making rice bowl, we don’t add much sauce. Instead, we can taste the original flavor of the ingredients. I really like this dish.
There are also some drinks and desserts, but they don’t have much speciality, so I won’t share them. When you come to Otoya, you should just order the main meal!
Friends who are interested in salmon are recommended to try this seasonal dish.
