📍Changhua, Lugang ➩ 🔥 Civil Engineering Society Charcoal Toast
Outside the bustling streets of Lugang,
I discovered a brunch spot in a quiet residential area that combines an old house with a literary style.
There aren’t many seats, but the environment is comfortable and serene 🪴.
This time, I simply ordered one sweet and one savory dish.

🍞 Kaya Butter Toast ⁽⁷⁰⁾
A collaboration with #Makayaya, this kaya toast features crispy, golden toast with kaya jam and half-melted butter in the middle.
It might be a bit indulgent, but the sweet and buttery combination is irresistible 😍.
This Singapore-style flavor starts the day off beautifully.
🥪 Taiwanese Spicy Pepper Pork ⁽⁷⁰⁾
This dish is truly Taiwanese, with a rich peppery aroma that isn’t spicy.
The outer toast is slightly crispy, while the aromatic pork inside has a nice crunchy layer.
The meat isn't dry or gamey 👍.
Adding cheese 🧀 (+$10) enhances the flavor even more.

📝 Overall, the atmosphere feels very relaxing, with warm lighting that helps lift the mood.
The aroma of the kaya toast seems to transport you to Singapore ~
And the Taiwanese spicy pepper pork truly embodies "real" Taiwanese flavor, evoking a nostalgia from childhood.
Each dish here is crafted with great care, and I highly recommend everyone come and enjoy a leisurely meal 🙌.
