Cha Mo is considered one of the famous specialties from the south, right? It's everywhere. Although there are places in Taipei now, it just feels a bit different. 😎 If you leave without having a drink from Cha Mo, it feels like you’ve missed out on something important. (It's really that exaggerated.)
I think Cha Mo's operating hours are pretty reasonable, although the staff might not feel the same way. 🤚🏻 They open at 8 AM, which is great for those addicted to hand-shaken drinks, as you can have your first drink of the day right after breakfast. We arrived at 8:01 and there were already people buying drinks to take away!
Every time I face their packed menu, I have a hard time deciding. In the end, the three of us picked three drinks with completely different styles. 🤣 One person was quite disappointed with the options after looking at the menu since most contained caffeine, while the others were too sweet.
𖠚ᐝ Honey Milk Oolong $50
- Sweetness can’t be adjusted, so I chose less ice. This was my order, thinking I shouldn’t get anything too special so early in the morning since it seemed like a stable combination. But, it was super sweet! I could really feel the southern warmth, tasting like it had half a cup of honey. After mixing it with cold brew tea back at the hotel, it was finally suitable. If it weren't so sweet, it would have been delicious because the honey aroma was really strong.
𖠚ᐝ Fresh Milk Green Tea $55
- Slightly sweet with less ice. I think the slight sweetness is just right. This kind of milk tea combo rarely goes wrong; it’s a safe choice.
𖠚ᐝ Plum Green Tea (with lemon and blueberry jelly) $75
- A very special friend of mine ordered a unique drink. I heard that Cha Mo's blueberry jelly is quite famous, so she paired it like this. Surprisingly, it wasn't weird at all! The blueberry flavor is strong, but not the kind I would want to repurchase – just nice to try. Plus, the blueberry jelly really stands out in this drink, with the benefit of being refreshing.
