Afternoon Tea2 pplMOP 50

This place is Goat Bakers - Taipa, located near Rua do Cunha. After seeing reviews on Xiaohongshu introducing their egg tarts made with Japanese Lan Wang eggs, I decided to give it a try.

I visited this Saturday afternoon and didn’t have to queue, and I bought a few items to taste.

  • Cheese Flower Cup $38
The outer layer is crispy, and the sweetness of the cheese is richer and more fragrant than traditional egg tart filling, but it can get a bit overwhelming towards the end.
  • Matcha Flower Cup $40
The outer layer is crispy with a strong butter flavor; once you take a bite, the matcha filling flows out. This matcha has a lingering sweetness, but having too much of it can also be a bit heavy.
  • Lan Wang Egg Tart $12
The egg tart is relatively small and can be finished in two bites. Made with Japanese Lan Wang eggs, the pastry is flaky, crispy, and rich in butter flavor, but the egg custard filling isn’t particularly smooth, although it has a strong egg aroma.
  • Earl Grey Canelé $23
The canelé is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a noticeable Earl Grey tea fragrance and a very nice texture.

Overall, this store’s desserts each have their own unique character, with rich flavors and creativity, and each one leaves a memorable impression. However, due to the generous portions, it is better for two people to share one egg tart, otherwise it can become overwhelming. The quality of the products in the store is also excellent, making them great for taking photos as keepsakes.

Matcha flower cup $40
Butterfly Orchid King Pie $12
The canelé is $23 and it is very delicious, crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.
Cheese flower cup $38

Kadorar Bakery 🥯 嘉多娜 天然酵母麵包店
BakeryKowloon
Hovering beyond restaurants deserving of Foodies’ recognition, let’s taste some of Kadorar (嘉多娜)’s nationally renowned signature breads that are worth the dough. A bite into these warm, chewy, crusty, substantial and fragrant edamame blueberries cheese tea breads instantly opens the floodgates to our childhood memories of sweet dreams. We definitely could make a meal out of these satisfactorily moist petite delicacies. It’s one of our best “Shut-up-and-take-my-money!” dining eXperience if you support bakery people who make astonishingly amazing breads, show love for democratic freedom towards liberal living as well as peaceful lifestyles. #香港人加油

Willa Jean
BakeryNew Orleans
Can't disagree with their self description: Adding a modern touch to traditional southern cuisine, Willa Jean elevates classic dishes with creative flair and innovative twists while staying true to the roots of the region's culinary heritage. Willa Jean is a cherished bakery in new orleans's heart, known for its comforting southern fare. The place is modern and bright with its glass walls covering half of the room. The biscuits are fantastic and a must have when being in NOLA. We had the fried chicken and tabasco honey biscuit and the bacon and egg and pimento cheese biscuit. Too bad we couldn't try more from the menu. The service was very good, friendly and attentive.

Aunty Ann @ NU Empire
BakerySubang Jaya
A typical Aunty Anne chain that is famous for its pretzels. Plenty of different kinds to choose from. They also sell other pastry sticks, sausage and cheese nuggets if pretzels arent your thing. There is also lemonade for drinks and dips awailable for extra charge. There are seasonal promotional items to try. Food is packed with easy to eat packaging; making it a good snack to eat while walking around. Pretzel tasted nice with soft texture and well seasoned. Lemonade (not in pic) is also quite decent, with a nice sour refreshing taste. Service was quick as expected and staff were friendly.
