Located on Section 2 of Shennong Road in Yilan, the 🔸Liangxin Ice Shop🔸, nicknamed "Black Shop."
I originally thought it was called "Black (Heart) Shop" because it is a play on words with its opposite "Good Conscience." Later, I found out from an introduction on the shop's wall that it was actually because the previous owner was quite frugal. In the summer, she would only turn on a dim light during the day, and combined with the dark color of the walls, looking from the outside into the shop would give it a gloomy appearance. That's why it earned the nickname "Black Shop." But rest assured, the ingredients and production process are anything but heartless!
A cup costing 55 NT dollars allows you to choose 1 to 2 flavors. In addition to the five flavors on the menu, there are sometimes limited-time offerings. On this day, the limited flavor was matcha.
We ordered matcha + milk ice🍨. The texture was very fine and fluffy, and the milk had a taste reminiscent of a certain brand of milk powder. The sweetness of the milk powder was quite strong, bringing back nostalgic flavors. The matcha flavor included milk powder as well, resulting in a slightly bitter matcha perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the milk powder without being overwhelming.
This shop doesn't have a sign, but next door there's a very eye-catching "Shennong Cane Juice" sign. Those wanting to visit should be careful not to miss it!
