Located in a small alley by the Kaohsiung Arena, my sister initially came to Kaohsiung and found this place incredibly delicious, as agreed upon by her friends. She told me that I absolutely have to come when I visit Kaohsiung!

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Kaohsiung Arena. When I arrived around 7:30 PM on a Sunday, there was no need to queue. The restaurant isn't large, with about ten seats, and has a stylish industrial decor.

Although the restaurant's reservation policy is bar-style, there aren't many drink options on the menu. Most people come for the main dishes, so it feels more like a Japanese donburi and udon restaurant.

The grilled scallop salmon don is priced at $430. It’s beautifully presented ❤️, featuring three large scallops and six slices of salmon belly. Overall, it’s not overly seasoned, focusing on the flavor of the ingredients and the aroma of the grilling. The rice is just regular white rice, with spices sprinkled on top of the egg.

The moon-viewing beef don (gyudon) costs $400. There’s a generous amount of meat and three pieces of zucchini. The meat is tender and delicious 👍.

Ordering a donburi or udon comes with a truffle chawanmushi (savory steamed egg) and a soup. The chawanmushi is topped with salmon roe. I’m not a fan of the truffle flavor in some dishes, but I really liked this one (٩۹(๑•̀ω•́ ๑)۶). The chawanmushi is very smooth and probably has additional broth or seasoning, leading to a rich flavor. It stands out as an astonishing dish!

The soup served is a chicken soup with peeled chili, containing a piece of chicken. The soup is lightly spicy, perfect for drinking in cold weather, and it’s delicious.

For me, the deliciousness of the side dishes exceeds that of the main course; I would come just for the sides (✪ω✪). (But the main dishes are also really good, with generous portions that should satisfy most people. The meal is worth the price.)
