# Open for Business During the New Year
The business hours are the same as usual—I visited on the afternoon of the small New Year’s Eve.
There’s currently a 20% discount promotion! I’m not sure if it’s a New Year’s special.
“Xiao Ren Quan Soy Milk” is a well-known brand of soy milk, and the prices are much higher than those of regular breakfast shops. Its feature is that it's very thick and rich, tasting more like the original flavor of freshly ground soybeans, rather than the diluted ordinary soy milk. Anyone who has tried it will probably understand why this shop can charge these prices.
I made a special trip to buy it mainly because I saw there’s a new product called “Pumpkin Soy Milk,” which I thought was quite rare, so I ordered a bottle to try it out. The result was… it basically still tasted like soy milk; the pumpkin flavor was very faint. If it weren’t specifically labeled as pumpkin soy milk, one might think they were just drinking regular thick soy milk. It’s not that it’s not tasty; after all, Xiao Ren Quan’s soy milk is already very rich, but those who are looking for a distinct pumpkin flavor might be a bit disappointed.
However, I happened to encounter a 20% discount this time, so a bottle cost 74 yuan, which is considered a pretty good price for this shop. After all, their soy milk isn’t cheap, so trying it at a discounted price isn’t a loss.
