Originally planned to eat the taiyaki from across the street, but ended up finding that my stomach still had a little space for something else, so I came here. It was an unexpected discovery.

What surprised me is that this shop is actually a chain that has been operating locally in Kaohsiung for 40 years (just looking at the name, it seems like one of those impressive traditional noodle shops; I thought I had discovered a hidden gem, but it turns out I was the only one who didn't know about it✋( ˆ̑‵̮ˆ̑ )).

I can't believe it has locations in Fengshan, Lingya, Xiaogang, Qianzhen, Sanmin, Renwu, Zuoying, and Nanzih. I really wasted my time in Kaohsiung; I haven't seen a single one of them 😇.

The seating space here is quite large, and the solid wood tables and chairs are very comfortable. However, the service and attitude weren't very friendly. Plus, halfway through my meal, I saw the uncle in front of me packing dumplings, coughing while looking at his phone without covering his mouth, which almost made me lose my appetite (I thought to myself, thank goodness I didn't order dumplings).

Focusing on the noodles in front of me was definitely the best choice.

✐ Egg yolk dry noodles (large) $65
✐ Century egg tofu $35
· The reason I ordered the century egg tofu is to mix it with the noodles and eat them all together (Does anyone else do this!!! Looking for like-minded friends 🔍).

The egg yolk noodles are flavorful enough to eat on their own, and the noodles have a nice chewy texture. They have the flavor of crispy shallots and sauce inside, but adding the century egg tofu will greatly enhance the overall experience of the noodles. Believe me @@.

I also recommend the chili sauce from the self-service area of the shop; the spiciness is definitely reliable and flavorful. However, I encountered a bitter taste when I bit into a certain piece of the century egg white, which was the first time I experienced that flavor in century eggs. I'm not sure what caused it, but I hope it's not spoiled.

Overall, this meal cost me $100, and I ate well and felt full—seems like a pretty good value!
