Hu Guo-Xiong Traditional Noodles - 4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is my second visit to Hu Guo-Xiong Traditional Noodles.
Last time, I felt like I had to come back right after I finished my meal.
The taste is really nostalgic and delicious ❤️

The indoor decor is simple, yet it has a warm, nostalgic feeling.
Even though there is only a ceiling fan and no air conditioning, it’s just right in winter.
It doesn’t feel stuffy during the meal, and the air circulation is quite good.

This time, I ordered the signature soup noodles and braised pork rice.
The noodles aren’t too salty, but the slices of meat on top are a bit tough, though it doesn’t affect the flavor.
The braised pork rice is stewed perfectly, fatty but not greasy,
and it pairs well with a bowl of hot soup.

The side dishes are also impressive.
The Shaoxing wine jelly egg has a subtle wine aroma that is not overwhelming at all.
It’s very flavorful and a must-order item.
The portions for the side dishes are a bit small,
but they complement the main course perfectly.

The downside of this place might be the smaller portion sizes.
You might need two bowls of noodles to feel full.

Hu Guo-Xiong Traditional Noodles is perfect for those who want a nostalgic experience
and a simple home-cooked meal.
The culinary gems of Puli are hidden in such a humble corner,
so don’t miss out!
