☕️ Fukuoka's championship self-roasting coffee shop, enjoy the street view leisurely at Hakata Station!

Many of you may have heard of REC coffee, which has two branches in Taichung, Taiwan! The founder, Yoshiwa Iwase, won the Japanese roasting championship for three consecutive years and was the runner-up at the World Roasting Championship (WBC) in 2016.

I have visited five branches, and among all the ones I've been to, this one is the most convenient in terms of transportation, as anyone visiting Fukuoka would likely go to Hakata Station. It's located in the department store next to the station, making it easy to grab a cup of coffee while shopping.

The shop has plenty of seating, and the window seats are hardly ever available. You can Look down from above at the busiest intersection in front of the station, which is very pleasant.

This time, I ordered a hot dog bun made with Frankfurt-style sausage from Aso, Kyushu, topped with dried onion and a bit of grainy yellow mustard, resulting in a rich and bouncy texture and plenty of aromatic layers.

As a champion roasting shop, the quality of the coffee is definitely outstanding. Everyone has different preferences, and they also offer some tasting samples or you can ask the staff to recommend your favorite roast level! If you don't have time to visit other branches, this one next to the station is a great choice!
