I came to the An Nam Fruit and Vegetable Market this time, originally wanting to eat at the restaurant with a long queue for meat rice cakes, but seeing the large crowd, I didn't want to wait. There was another shop nearby without any line, so I decided to try the Yong Le Guan Miao meat rice cakes (Yi An store) instead. However, this decision carried a high risk of disappointment, so everyone, please don't imitate casually 😂.
To my surprise, when the meal was served, the flavor was actually quite good. The meat rice cake itself had a chewy and smooth texture, and the sauce was perfectly sweet and salty, not too greasy. The house-made chili was also a highlight; just a little added a lot of flavor and had a real kick. I ordered a cup of traditional red tea, which was quite standard in performance.
Overall, although it’s not the famous restaurant with a queue, this meat rice cake didn’t disappoint and even had a bit of a pleasant surprise. If you already like meat rice cakes or happen to not want to wait in line, you could actually give this place a try.
