Located on Datong Road in Hsinchu, close to Beida Road, "Belong to" is a small shop that specializes in scones. The exterior looks warm and cute, and getting closer to it can really lift your spirits. The decor is simple yet filled with a playful sense of childhood, and the shop also sells some small toys and miscellaneous goods. The overall atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, making it perfect for slowly choosing desserts and spending some time there!
The most impressive aspect is the incredibly friendly service. The young owner (who looks to be about my age 😅) carefully introduces every type of scone, clearly explaining the flavors, sweetness, and scent layers, making it evident that they have confidence and care for their products. There’s no pressure during the process; rather, I was happily persuaded! XD
This time, I chose a few flavors:
First up is "Apple Cinnamon." The outer layer is baked to a crispy finish, while the inside is fluffy and moist. The cinnamon flavor is spicy and strong, unlike the sweet and fragrant route of typical cinnamon rolls, with a distinctly hot sensation that may not be suitable for kids. However, adults will find it super satisfying, especially with the crunchy texture of the apple bits, which greatly adds to the layers of taste! 🍎
"Brown Sugar Mochi" is very unique, with a rich brown sugar aroma paired with a chewy mochi filling. The flaky pastry of the scone contrasts amusingly with the chewy mochi, and there’s a little surprise texture when you bite into it~
"Caramel Pudding" is fairly ordinary for me. The flavor of the pudding is noticeable, but it falls within a range that is predictable and does not particularly stand out.
"Dark Chocolate" is aimed at an adult palate, with a strong chocolate aroma. However, it’s a bit sweeter than I expected; I originally thought it would be very bitter dark chocolate! XD If you generally enjoy dark chocolate, you’d probably love it! 🍫
In summary, "Belong to" is a shop that makes you want to come back and slowly collect different flavors of scones. The desserts are delicious, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the service is warm, making it well worth a special trip to try! Next time, I want to challenge myself with more creative flavors!
