Today I came to worship at the Michelin Bib Gourmand recommended beef noodles. It truly lives up to its reputation. On Friday night, there was a small queue, but they turned the tables quickly. The dining space inside isn't very large, but most of the tables are round and shared with other customers.
The service staff were very fast in taking orders. This time we ordered the signature clear broth beef noodles, signature braised beef noodles, a pancake, shredded beef with Peking sauce, and pineapple shrimp balls.
Clear Broth Beef Noodles
At first, I thought the flavor would be quite light, but the broth was actually rich and flavorful. The noodles were ordinary but chewy. The beef chunks were tender and didn't have any gamey taste. It paired perfectly with the provided sweet and sour dipping sauce for the clear broth beef noodles, which was very refreshing.
Braised Beef Noodles
The flavor is probably as one would expect, but it’s still worth a try since we are here.
Pancake with Shredded Beef in Peking Sauce
The pancake itself had a slightly salty and savory flavor, making it delicious on its own. Plus, I saw the chef rolling the pancakes while waiting in line, which made me really look forward to trying it. It was indeed impressive! It can also be paired with the slightly sweet shredded beef. The shredded beef in Peking sauce could easily be made into a Peking sauce beef noodles dish, which would definitely be tasty too!
Pineapple Shrimp Balls
What surprised me was that they actually used real shrimp instead of shrimp paste, haha.
Unfortunately, all the side dishes were sold out. I will definitely return when I have time. The clear broth beef noodles and pancake were really quite good, worthy of another visit!
