Located on Guoguang 3rd Street in Yongkang District, Tainan, "San Da Beef Hot Pot" is a restaurant that specializes in warm-bodied beef hot pot. The quality of the meat and the broth are quite impressive. The slices of warm-bodied beef are very tender, and you can feel the elasticity and sweetness in almost every piece, which is of a high standard. Even if the cooking time is a bit long, the beef does not become tough, which I find hard to come by.
Their broth is on the lighter side and has a natural sweetness, making it very pleasant to drink without an overpowering taste of MSG. This is a plus for me, as some hot pot restaurants have broths that can leave you feeling thirsty if consumed in excess, but here, that is not the case at all, leaving me quite satisfied with the quality of the broth.
As for the minced pork rice, while it may not be a standout dish, it performs adequately. The seasoning of the minced pork is moderate, and when paired with the white rice, it doesn't feel overly greasy, making it fairly competent overall. Compared to the focus on warm-bodied beef hot pot, the presence of the minced pork rice is somewhat weaker, but it still holds its own as a side dish.
In summary, the warm-bodied beef at San Da Beef Hot Pot is indeed worth trying, and the fresh quality of the broth is impressive. Although the prices are slightly higher, considering the quality, I still highly recommend it.
