Butcher by LanPengYou
Hidden beside the Tonghua Night Market in a small alley next to Sanxing Elementary School, "Butcher by LanPengYou" is a small burger shop with an American style. The location may be discreet, but once you try it, you'll want to come back!
(A little side note: I actually ate here five years ago, hahaha! Back then, I wasn't living in Taipei and made a special trip to eat here. This is my second visit!)
“Truffle. Truffle Cream Egg 3oz Beef”
There are options without meat and with meat, but as a super meat lover, of course, I had to go for the meat! This dish is a must-order for truffle fans! The aroma of truffle is rich and enticing, paired with homemade mayonnaise, caramelized onions, and a creamy egg, every bite is a perfect combination of fragrant, rich, smooth, and tender. Especially that juicy burger patty, so full of meat flavor 🤤
“RICARDO. Lucado”
The name is interesting, and the layers of flavor are rich. Although it comes with hot sauce, the spiciness is actually mild, just the right touch. The combination of sesame leaves and grilled onions adds extra points, and when paired with maple bacon and cheddar cheese, the sweet and salty contrast creates a vivid flavor profile—it's a very memorable burger 🍔
“Side Dishes”
The cheese potato balls are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, the fries have a firm texture, and the butcher wings are satisfyingly spicy but full of flavor. The side dishes are great for sharing with a group, with everyone trying a few different options～
In summary, this place uses good quality ingredients and has distinctive flavors, and the portion sizes are quite generous. After finishing your meal, the feeling of happiness (and perhaps guilt) is off the charts XD. Tonghua Night Market is always crowded, and if you're in the area, this is definitely a place worth checking out!
A little side note: It wasn't raining when I left yesterday, but after we finished eating, it started pouring, and I thought a typhoon was hitting. The staff were super kind and lent my friend and me two umbrellas 🥹 so warm-hearted!!
