Kaohsiung Yancheng District Food - Jun San Shop Handmade Noodle Toppings. This is my second visit to this noodle shop, and I really like the atmosphere and decor inside. The key point is that the dishes are very much to the taste of Taiwanese people, with authentic home-cooked flavors reminiscent of a military dependents' village. This time, there’s an additional 76 ice shop in the corridor. Enjoying the delicacies of the military dependents' village and then having some shaved ice is truly delightful.

The tomato vegetable soup noodle uses a large amount of stewed tomatoes for a very sweet and refreshing broth, filled with plenty of vegetables and mushrooms, paired with chewy handmade noodles that go down smoothly. The handmade noodles don’t become mushy even after soaking for a while.

The signature spicy and numbing beef double treasure is a bit stronger in flavor, with tofu and duck blood soaking up the braising sauce. The mildly spicy taste goes well with rice, and the beef tendon is also thoroughly braised, making it very tender and gelatinous.

After the meal, having a bowl of ice powder that is sweet and sour, containing eight different toppings, makes for a large portion, so it’s recommended to share. My favorite is the bursting pearls, which, when bitten into, reveal a lemon flavor that pairs nicely with the ice, making it very refreshing.
