When I was looking for a restaurant, I was a bit hesitant. I thought that eating in Mexico should involve finding local eateries, but since I really liked a Greek restaurant back in the United States, I couldn't help but be drawn to a Greek restaurant 🇬🇷 when I saw it. In the end, I made a reservation. However, since I was on vacation, I sometimes accidentally ate too many snacks. I originally planned to have dinner at 7 PM, but since I wasn't feeling hungry yet, I changed it to 8 PM. It was really easy to call and make the change, which made me think the restaurant wouldn’t be too crowded. To my surprise, when I walked in, it was almost packed, and the atmosphere was super lively. There were blonde beauties dancing on tables 💃, and a DJ was constantly providing music. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of restaurants where I can’t hear my friends talk, but the restaurant's atmosphere was vibrant enough that I didn’t feel like I wanted to leave immediately!
As for the food—
I personally recommend the octopus 🐙. They used parts that usually harden easily, which are the octopus legs, but they managed to cook it with flavor, and it wasn’t too tough to chew. However, since I’ve tried more authentic Greek dishes, I felt that this particular dish had been somewhat adapted by the Mexicans. They added a local twist to it, infusing it with a slight hint of lemony sourness that reminded me of the ceviche I had in Peru!
Additionally, their salmon was seasoned with passion fruit, giving it a fragrant aroma and a sweet and sour taste that was quite appetizing. However, I personally think that for the price, the portion was a bit stingy—I had to take several bites to get to a small piece of salmon 🍣. But I think the pairing with sour seeds was still quite nice!
Overall, if you’re unsure about what to eat in Cancun, Mexico, I think this restaurant is worth considering. But if, like me, you don’t enjoy noisy environments, I recommend choosing somewhere that doesn’t turn into a nightclub after midnight. However, if you love a lively atmosphere, it seems they have a Greek custom of breaking plates every night, which you might enjoy trying out!
