Shiting Hakka Bistro is an old restaurant in Hualien that has been in Hualien for more than 40 years.
Located directly opposite the main entrance of Mingyi Elementary School, it is an ancient restaurant with a beautiful courtyard.
Because there were only two people dining, the store arranged a private room for us to sit in. At first, the store's explanation was quite hasty and confusing. After finally understanding the meaning and sitting in the private room, we found out why.
Because at noon a few minutes later, there was a group of more than fifty people making reservations.
This preparation alone takes a lot of effort, so naturally there is no room for receiving individual visitors.
What I enjoyed today was fried mambo fish with pickled cabbage, beef with perilla, and burdock and asparagus soup, totaling about 900 yuan.
Fried Mambo Fish with Sauerkraut:
What’s interesting is that the price is the current price, and delicious mambo fish dishes are completely out of reach, so I bravely tried it.
The refreshing sauerkraut is slightly sour and salty, and it goes well with the gum-rich chewy mambo.
Although the mambo is a large fish, it has bones, but the large bones and cartilage are very easy to pick out, making it delicious and safe to eat.
Perilla beef:
I originally expected that the beef would be found in the perilla leaves, but when it was served, I realized that the perilla was found in the beef.
The perilla is made into a puree and stir-fried with the beef. The rich beef aroma has a refreshing perilla sweetness, which is very delicious.
Burdock and Asparagus Soup:
For various reasons, there was no asparagus, just burdock soup.
Burdock's unique slightly bitter and special aroma goes well with the broth.
Overall, although there were so many reservations at noon that our serving time was delayed a lot, the delicious food was totally worth the wait.
After a full meal, it is also a pleasure to look at the beautiful small courtyard at the door.
Highly recommended to everyone!
