🚩Taipei East District Taiwanese-style Homemade Italian Pasta 🍝 Generous portions and hearty

📍Location and Transportation: This Italian pasta place is located on Yanji Street in the East District of Taipei, near Cathay General Hospital. The nearest MRT station is Xinyi Anhe Station, Exit 5, about an 8-minute walk away. There are a few motorcycle parking spaces in front of the store.

🏠Space: The restaurant has been around for a while, and the decor is not very new. The yellow walls are paired with brown wooden tables and red-green chairs, creating a lively and cute color scheme. There are 34 seats, all tables for 2-4 people, and the spacing between tables is quite tight. (I noticed a small cockroach when I sat down 🫣, but the staff quickly came to handle it.) The business is pretty good during weekday lunches, almost always full.

💰Ordering and Payment: You fill out a paper menu and settle the bill after dining; cash payment only.

🍽️Dishes:
Pesto Pasta: I rated it as a taste and texture that seems like something I could cook at home 😂. The sauce is more watery, not the thick type with a bunch of leaves. The pasta is a bit soft and portion size is large. The chicken is generous, but apart from the sauce, pasta, and meat, there are no other side dishes.
Garlic Slice Chili Bacon Pasta: This dish really showcases the chef's skills; it's quite good! The colors are beautiful, and the chili and garlic slices are sautéed nicely, but the quantity of pasta is on the smaller side, not enough for those with a big appetite 🥲.
Garlic Bread and Corn Chowder: Decent 👌🏻, nothing particularly wrong with it.

💭Summary:
This was recommended by a colleague, and today is my first time trying it. Taiwanese-style Italian pasta is about enjoying the meal, not pursuing authenticity (Italians express their frustration 💢). Although this place is not perfect in every aspect, it has its merits that attract me to return. Next time, I want to try the stir-fried dishes and creamy options 😋.
