In the Greater Taipei area, it seems quite difficult to find braised pork trotter that is tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth; famous restaurants are often overrated.
This shop is located in the food court of Nangang World Trade Center. The trotter surprisingly meets the standards of being tender and flavorful, with the fatty meat not being greasy, and the chopped lean meat moist and not dry. Paired with the fried tofu and bamboo shoots on the side, it is quite perfect.
The braised pork rice exceeds expectations, but can't be considered excellent. You can choose two side dishes, but their quality varies and they are too oily. This time, I opted for the braised cabbage, which wasn't fully tender but had a slight pungency, yet it was still a good choice. The vegetable soup meets expectations, but the preparation of the vegetables is lacking in finesse, leaving the texture a bit too coarse.
