One of the founding members of Starbucks has a brand with the same name, which started in Hawaii and has now opened its second location in Japan!
It is said that this member was responsible for coffee and food quality control when Starbucks was founded and caused a sensation after opening a shop in the mountains of Hawaii. The first store in Japan, located in Omotesando, is themed around "simple yet unforgettable dishes," and the Yokohama store is their new second location opened this year.
It's usually full even on ordinary weekday afternoons, and on weekends, you often have to wait for a while to get a table. Fortunately, being located in a department store makes the waiting time quite manageable.
I didn't have high expectations for the coffee, but the quality is indeed very good. Now, I often stop by to grab a cup to go, and both the hot coffee and cold brew are excellent.
This time, I ordered an acai bowl for brunch, which was a mixture of berries and plenty of granola, paired with yogurt that had a great texture, and the fruits were all very sweet. However, it feels a bit pricey considering the portion size.
Next to the counter, there are also many muffins and cakes, and the selection changes daily, based on what is available. If you’re at Yokohama Station, I recommend giving it a try.
