忍野八海名水草餅
Here is Oshino Hakkai’s centralized store, which sells all kinds of groceries, souvenirs, ice cream, and cakes. The snack we enjoyed here this time was straw cake. The most famous thing about this place is that they say that the water flowing down from the mountain is very delicious, so the pastries or cakes made from it are also delicious.
And this straw cake is green because it uses something called よもぎ (I don’t know what it is), and then it is stuffed with mashed beans. In fact, it tastes burnt on the outside, but not crispy. The overall texture is like a slightly harder rice cake with red bean paste inside. It is basically an ordinary snack, nothing amazing. Part of it, if you are traveling here, you don’t have to go out of your way to buy this to eat.
