This time I visited the Liangcang No. 1 Spicy Hot Pot at the Yilan flagship store. I've been to the Taipei Songjiang store no less than ten times, so I wanted to try the main store this time. I ordered the 788 NT dollar package, plus a 10% service fee.
The dining method is scan-to-order for an all-you-can-eat experience. There is a rich variety of meats, including American Prime brisket, American boneless short ribs, Australian M6-7 Wagyu, pork shoulder, seafood platter, and more. The quality is similar to the Taipei store, with a beautiful distribution of marbling and not too much shredded meat, which should satisfy meat lovers. The seafood platter is also very generous, with decent quality shrimp and bass fillets.
This time I chose the spicy and Mongolian hot pot. The spicy broth has a rich aroma of spices but isn’t too harsh, and the duck blood tofu is delicious; the Mongolian broth is perfect for cooking vegetables, with a sweet and smooth flavor.
The restaurant offers a self-service bar with fresh and clean vegetables, noodles, braised pork rice, drinks, and ice cream available for self-service. Fruits and desserts need to be ordered via QR code, and the fruit is a mixed platter without options to choose, which is a bit inconvenient compared to the Taipei store where you can pick your own.
This branch has convenient parking, with spaces available at the front and sides, and the environment is more spacious and comfortable than the Songjiang store. There are also meal delivery robots in the seating area, which is quite interesting. However, initially, I waited for almost 20 minutes to place my order, and the staff's attitude was somewhat indifferent, which is a disappointing aspect.
Overall, the quality of the meat, broth, and seafood is at a certain standard, and it’s a worthwhile all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant. It would be even better if they could improve the speed of service and staff attitude.
