This restaurant in Hawaii not only has an amazing location with views of the sea, beach 🏖️, and sunsets 🌇, but it is also famous for its desserts and delicious dishes, attracting many tourists! If you don’t make a reservation in advance, it can be hard to get a table during peak hours. Since a friend had been here before and knew it was very popular, we made a reservation ahead of time! This time we were also lucky to get a table outdoors, close to the beach.
We ordered an appetizer, a dessert 🍦, and two cocktails.
These included:
❤️ Panko-crusted calamari
This appetizer was fantastic! It came with two sauces – one was regular ketchup 🥫 and the other was a yogurt sauce! The sauces help to eliminate the greasiness of the fried food! Plus, it was cooked to be very tender, making it a truly easy-to-eat appetizer!
❤️ Kimo’s original hula pie
This is a very famous dessert 🍮 that many people order when they come! The whole pie is packed with rich ice cream 🍦 flavor, and it's drizzled with warm chocolate 🍫, which reminds me a bit of the chocolate sauce we used to make chocolate milk when we were kids! Topped with nuts, the overall taste is fragrant and not overly sweet! It’s easy to see why it’s famous!
❤️ Duke’s Mai Tai
This is a classic cocktail in the restaurant – the alcohol isn’t too strong! They’ve balanced out the bitterness of the alcohol very well, making it feel like a perfect summer cocktail!
❤️ Tall dark & chance 'um
This drink might be a bit off-putting for those who usually don’t like a slightly bitter taste, but I personally enjoy the smoky flavor! It’s quite suitable for those who usually drink alcohol.
Overall, I definitely recommend it! However, the prices are a bit high, and there are many tourists, so if you want to go, try to avoid the peak hours or make a reservation!
