🍜 Special Shantou Noodles
📍 No. 10, Lane 36, Section 3, Xiulang Road, Zhonghe District, New Taipei City
🕰 Thursday to Sunday 07:00–15:00 (Closed Monday to Wednesday)
📦 This time I got takeout; the plastic bag was steamy and the familiar aroma wafted out 🤤. I ordered the dry noodles, blanched vegetables, and a bunch of braised items, and it looked really impressive once I spread it all out at home.
🍜 The dry noodles had a texture that's not the usual chewy kind; instead, it was a bit mushy and soft, almost like it had some flour mixed in, which I'm not really used to 😅. However, the braised meat was quite fragrant, and the portion was generous; mixing it all together was still very satisfying.
🥬 The blanched vegetables were also topped with braised meat sauce, salty and fragrant with a hint of oil, simple yet delicious~
🍢 For the braised items, I chose tofu skin, kelp, pig ears, and pig skin. The scallion sauce had a decent flavor, not as amazing as people say, but it paired well with the noodles. The chili sauce, on the other hand, really stood out; it was quite unique 🌶️.
👵 The shop feels like a noodle shop from my childhood, a bit cluttered but cozy. The aunties there are busy and work together seamlessly while being very polite 👍. Remember to take a number before waiting to place your order; you can call ahead for a number to save some time.
🛵 Parking is tough in the alley, so if you don't want to wait on-site, I recommend takeout~ Overall, it has a warm, home-cooked flavor.
