I went to Tokiya, the tsukemen specialty shop that I think is the best, for the first time in a while 🍜

The nearest station is Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, but it's also within walking distance from Minamikata Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line 🚃

I heard it’s a popular place with lines, and since it was my first time going during the day, I was met with an incredible line‼️ I waited for more than 30 minutes‼️

The shop used a ticket vending machine for ordering 🎫

There were counter seats and table seats, and I chose a counter seat 😊

I ordered the new menu item:
Fresh Cream Special 🍜
with large noodles (300g)
and it came with dashi rice to finish 🍜

When the noodles arrived, they were medium-thick 🍜
with a large slice of char siu 🐷
soft-boiled egg 🥚
daikon sprouts
nori
and a generous sprinkle of black pepper,
making it very hearty 🍜

The soup was quite rich and thick, and included
large chunks of diced pork belly 🐷
menma 🎋
and green onions,
making for a very filling bowl🐷

They also asked if I wanted a paper apron 😊

First, I just tasted the noodles, which were chewy and had been tightened with cold water, making them even more satisfying and delicious 🍜

I dipped the noodles into the soup, and the rich, creamy broth clung to the chewy noodles—it was incredibly tasty 🍜✨
The fresh cream soup had a distinctly creamy flavor and even a stew-like essence that was really delicious✨

The soup was so thick that when I dipped the noodles in too much, it became a bit overwhelming, so I understood why it was mentioned to use a moderate amount✨

The meat inside was also hearty and flavorful 😊
It was full of meatiness and very tasty 🐷

It was said that the large char siu would become tough when cold, so I made sure to eat it quickly 🐷
The char siu was sprinkled with black pepper, and whether eaten as is or charred, it was fragrant, spicy, and delicious; dipping it in the soup made it even better, and despite its size, I finished it in no time 🐷

The soft-boiled egg had a beautifully runny yolk 🥚
On its own it was a bit mild, but when dipped in the soup, it brought out an incredible synergy—so delicious! 😊

Daikon sprouts
nori
The daikon sprouts were tasty on their own, and delicious when dipped in the soup too! 😍✨
When I wrapped the noodles and daikon sprouts in the nori and dipped it in the soup, the heat and light flavor of the sprouts combined with the nori made it incredibly delicious✨🍜

Even with 300g of noodles, I was able to eat it all smoothly 🍜

The tsukemen was incredibly delicious, and there was even more to enjoy! ✨

Dashi rice 🍚
was lightly flavored,
with rice 🍚
and black pepper
inside 🍚
This shop had a system where you mixed the leftover soup with the dashi rice for a final dish 🍚

The dashi rice itself was quite light, and I mixed it with the rich soup—it created a whole different flavor that was absolutely delicious 🍚😍

I often wondered what to do with leftover soup from tsukemen, so I thought this system was wonderful 🥰

It was truly delicious and a thoroughly satisfying meal 🍜🍚

When I left, there was a line of about 30 people, and for this deliciousness, I would wait in line 🍜

There are also other flavors of tsukemen that I'm curious about, so I definitely want to visit this recommendable shop again! 🍜‼️
