The small hot pot restaurant "Smashing Pots and Selling Iron" is located on Section 1 of Hankou Street, close to Taipei Main Station. The surrounding area is a bustling shopping district. Perhaps due to cost considerations, the restaurant is situated on the second floor of a building, but this definitely does not affect the deliciousness of the meals.

This time, we enjoyed the original chicken soup hot pot, the Korean kimchi tofu hot pot, and the spicy duck blood stinky tofu, totaling 620 TWD.

Original Chicken Soup Hot Pot:
The broth is robust, with a refreshing chicken soup aroma upon entry. As it cooks, it gradually develops a thickness from the collagen, giving the originally clear broth a richer feel, with a pleasant and natural aftertaste.

Korean Kimchi Tofu Hot Pot:
This is the restaurant's more expensive dish, which comes with complimentary egg and scallops. The broth has a balanced sour and spicy flavor, the tofu is smooth and tender, and the overall dish is easy on the palate and not overly stimulating.

Spicy Duck Blood Stinky Tofu:
I initially thought this was just a small plate of common side dishes, and when I saw the price of 120 TWD, I thought it was a bit high. However, it turned out to be a large serving. Both the duck blood and stinky tofu were flavorful, and the aroma was delightful, making it feel very worthwhile.

The meat slices and hot pot ingredients performed reliably, with fresh vegetables, and the meat slices were neither crumbled nor greasy. The self-service area offered a variety of items besides the usual drinks, coffee, and soda machines, including lemon tapioca, vermicelli, corn puffs, rice mixed with pork lard, braised pork, and green beans, providing a rich overall selection. Both the main hot pot and the side ingredients left us feeling full and satisfied, and I personally think the braised pork's deliciousness surpasses many snack shops.

If you visit on a weekday, the self-service area even offers pea shoots, but since I visited on a holiday today, they weren't available, which was a bit disappointing.

Overall, it's a small hot pot restaurant with stable quality and an excellent self-service bar.

If you check Google reviews, you’ll notice that a staff member known as "Auntie Mei Xiang" is especially praised. Today, I happened to run into her in the restaurant; she was friendly and courteous, maintaining the right pace and never making you feel overly disturbed.

The space is clean, the seating is relatively spacious, and the layout is very clear, making for a quite satisfying dining experience. The second floor also has a bit of scenery to enjoy.

I highly recommend it to everyone!
