Overall Review: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
Dickson's Fooday review is here!
This time, I visited a mysterious coffee shop near Fuzhong in Banqiao.
This coffee shop is located on the second floor of a very mysterious alley.
Just the alley itself is quite narrow,
and the shop is above an inconspicuous stairway.
It seems like only insiders would know about this coffee shop!
So I was quite surprised that someone had already flagged it!
After all, this shop is really hard to find~
I think if someone hasn’t been here before or doesn’t have a guide,
it would be difficult to locate this place.
After entering the alley,
make a right turn to find a mysterious staircase,
and then walk up to the second floor to see the café's entrance!
The interior space of the café isn’t large at all,
with only about four or five tables available,
and it can accommodate around 15 people at most.
What makes this café more distinctive, I believe, is its menu.
The menu is entirely handwritten.
Because of the handwritten part, I really couldn’t understand some areas 🤣🤣
At that moment, I discussed with my friend for a long time what this drink was.
The drinks here actually have a wide variety,
including hand-brewed options, tea, and alcohol~
It’s quite rich,
so depending on what everyone wants to drink, there should be good choices.
Since we came here after having dessert,
we didn’t order many dishes.
Basically, we just came here to sit for a while and enjoy the air conditioning~
My friend and I casually ordered two drinks only,
making it a mid-way resting stop.
Thus, we might not have tried the coffee and special items at this shop,
so the evaluation is based on what we ate and drank that day 🥹🥹🥹

⭐️Food Section
👉 Baked Hot Dog Sandwich
We only ordered one hot dog sandwich that day~
The hot dog sandwich is quite standard,
not particularly special.
The bread was decent,
and the hot dog was just average.
However, it was served with some burdock strips as a seasoning,
which is quite a unique touch.
Maybe because we didn’t order any special dishes from this shop,
so the score given is about like this~
⭐️Drink Section
That day we mainly ordered tea,
but perhaps we didn’t get to taste what they referred to as the hand-brewed coffee’s masterpiece.
So for the Jin Xuān tea,
I personally found it quite refreshing,
but there wasn't anything particularly memorable.
⭐️Atmosphere Section
The shop primarily embodies an old house café style.
After all, walking up to the second floor through an old alley with old stairs
you can feel the café's atmosphere.
The interior decor and arrangements definitely carry an old house café style,
including decorations on the walls and other items like paintings,
indicating that the shop is fairly meticulous in its management.
Thus, the atmosphere is quite nice, in my opinion.
However, perhaps because it was extremely hot during summer that day,
the air conditioning in the old building might not have been sufficient,
so it still felt a bit warm upon entering.
Since the shop has very few seats inside,
if the place is full when you arrive,
you might need to leave your phone number.
They will call you once a seat becomes available.
There really aren’t many seats inside,
and the space isn’t large,
so it’s not suitable for loud chatting or anything like that~
⭐️Service Section
That day, I don’t recall any particularly special service,
basically just very simple ordering and serving process.
⭐️Price Section
Considering it’s a café in Taipei and New Taipei,
this old house café’s atmosphere is nice,
and the prices are quite reasonable.
So I believe you don’t need to worry too much about the pricing,
and they also have fixed dining times.
So everyone can see what dishes and drinks they would like to order~
⭐️Location Section
I personally feel that Banqiao to Fuzhong is quite a remote area,
and this café is a bit far from the MRT station.
It would take about 10 minutes to walk from the station.
Moreover, the location itself is very unique,
in a dimly lit alley, going up special stairs to reach it.
You could say it has a very old house character!
⭐️In summary
I think this café has a lot of potential.
It’s also possible that the dishes and drinks we ordered that day weren’t their specialties.
Seeing other reviews praising the café's dishes quite highly,
I believe if everyone is interested, they should definitely come and try it~
After all, the dessert options at this shop are quite abundant.
Also, their hand-brewed coffee seems fantastic as well,
so for friends who are keen to visit various old house cafés,
I think the ambiance here is definitely worth a try!
🤪 Dickson's Chat Zone 🤪
Previously, I introduced a great hidden dessert shop nearby,
Guliyu.
After enjoying dessert here,
if you still don’t know where to go next,
I highly recommend transitioning the date to this café.
👱♂️: After dessert, let me take you to a mysterious place!
👩: What? Where is it? We just finished dessert; where are you taking me?
👱♂️: Hehe, follow me, a local guide, and you won’t go wrong!
Then you bring the girl into a dim alley.
After all, reaching this café involves going through a strange alley and stairs.
At this point, see if she’s interested in you and trusts you!
You can then joke around:
👱♂️: Hehe, I’m going to sell you!
If she shows a serious, shocked, or scared expression at this moment,
then your chances might not be great 🥹🥹🥹
Conversely,
👩: Oh no, shouldn’t I be selling you? 🤪🤪🤪
With this back-and-forth banter,
doesn’t it seem like your relationship has gotten even better?
And you can use this interaction
to gauge where your relationship stands.
What do you think of this Dickson's chat lesson? 🤪🤪🤪
