❤️🔥 Ah-Hsieh Turkey Rice ❤️🔥
Located on Ren'ai Road in Chiayi, this turkey rice spot is quite popular. However, as a local Chiayi person, I actually eat it very rarely XD Mostly because it's always crowded…
This time, by some twist of fate, I came here and even got the last bowl. So satisfying 😊
❣️ Chicken Rice
The chicken is fresh and tender, with a light aroma of chicken fat, combined with the sauce drizzled on top, adding a bit of savory with a hint of sweetness. The rice absorbs the flavors of the chicken broth, with a moist texture that's not dry, and every bite carries a rich chicken fragrance.
❣️ Fried Tofu
The exterior is well marinated, exuding the richness of soy sauce and a hint of bean aroma. When you bite into it, the marinade spills out, with a smooth and slightly bouncy texture. The inside is soaked with broth, carrying a little sweetness and a soy aroma, making the overall flavor rich but not overly salty. Plus, I was the last customer, so they gave me all the tofu; so satisfying 😊
❣️ Pig Skin
After braising, the pig skin has a chewy, gelatinous texture, releasing a rich braised aroma with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. It carries a bit of salty sweetness from the soy sauce, along with hints of star anise and five-spice, creating a deep and layered flavor profile.
❣️ Meatball Soup
The meatballs are chewy and juicy, and when you bite into them, you can feel the rich meat aroma, with a slight peppery kick and sweetness. The broth is usually refreshing, with a faint flavor of pork bones or bonito, making it warm and not greasy, perfectly highlighting the freshness of the meatballs.
