Angus Steak House
Located in downtown Auckland, Angus Steak House is one of the well-known steak restaurants in the area, famous for its fresh cuts and generous portions. The interior space is spacious, with wooden decor complemented by soft yellow lighting, creating a typical hearty atmosphere of a Western steakhouse. Large photos of meat hang on the walls, and as soon as you enter, the aroma of grilled meat whets your appetite.
This time, I ordered the Angus Steak Lunch Set, which includes a main dish of steak, fries, and a garden salad. The steak is grilled to the requested doneness and has a tender texture with a bit of chew, featuring a slightly charred surface that retains its juices when cut. Although it’s a lunch version, the portion is still substantial, larger than what you’d find at most chain steakhouses; however, it lacks the side dishes and drinks included with dinner sets, clearly tailored to suit a lighter lunch.
The fries are crispy and delicious, seasoned just right, and paired with a refreshing garden salad, offering a nice overall balance. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients, and while the plating is simple, it is clean and neat. The service staff is friendly.
Overall, Angus Steak House’s lunch set delivers consistently, with high-quality steak and ample portions, making it a great choice for those wanting to enjoy good meat at lunchtime without splurging. While it lacks the rich side dishes and ambiance of dinner, it remains affordable in terms of price and contents.
It seems to have also become a hotspot for Koreans, as I noticed many customers were Korean.
