The dishes are diverse; the salt-baked fish is fresh and juicy, the garlic stir-fried water lily is crispy, the salt and pepper dragon balls have a good chew, and the golden sand tofu is impressive. The sweet and sour ribs have a lot of tough meat, while the three-cup chicken has less sauce flavor.
The dining environment is spacious and bright, with a design featuring red round tables and a comfortable space. There is a free outdoor parking lot next to the restaurant, but you may need to wait a bit on holidays.
The counter arranges seating and takes orders, with self-service for rice. A 10% service charge is applied on holidays. Overall service efficiency is high, but customers need to fetch their own utensils and drinks.
On that day, I went with friends and there were more people, so I called to ask if there were any tables available and directly booked a grilled fish with the boss over the phone. When we arrived, the boss asked us to choose a seat ourselves on the left side of the counter.

This is the Wandi Grilled Fish in Yilan Jiaoxi, a local restaurant that has been featured on food programs. The entire establishment is built with metal sheets, simple and plain but spacious, with a free outdoor parking lot nearby, offering plenty of space. If it's a busy holiday, you may need to wait.
The dining environment is surprisingly nice, with a large, clean, and bright space, red round tables with sufficient distance between them, making it comfortable. Surrounding the restaurant is the owner's own fish pond, and the grilled fish is freshly caught and made on the spot, really giving the feeling of farm-to-table.
Upon entering, the staff at the counter will arrange seating and take your order. After marking your choices on the menu, you take it to the counter, and you pay after your meal. On holidays, there is a 10% service charge. White rice is free and self-service, with bowls, chopsticks, and cups available for you to take. Drinks can also be taken from the refrigerator and paid for together at checkout.
The signature dish here is the salt-baked grilled fish, which is covered in thick salt before serving. The process of breaking it open is quite interesting. The fish itself is fresh, with tender and juicy flesh, stuffed with scallions, garlic, and Thai basil for flavor; it's delicious on its own, and even better paired with pepper salt for another taste.
The sautéed water lily is perfectly cooked, crunchy, and just seasoned right. The salt-fried dragon balls have a crispy exterior and a chewy interior, providing a nice bite. The pineapple shrimp balls are sweet and savory, delicious. The salt-fried tofu is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, quite pleasant to eat. The bamboo shoots are well marinated. The four-season fatty intestines are also quite good, fried crispy with a nice texture. The sweet and sour ribs are a bit tough and have too many bones; I’m not a fan of them. The three-cup chicken lacks a bit of sauce and wine flavor, not really resembling the typical three-cup dish.
Overall, the dishes at this restaurant are heavy on flavor, making them great with rice and suitable for group meals. Coupled with ample space, a clean environment, and fast service, it’s a dining spot worth considering when visiting Jiaoxi.
It’s been a while since I’ve eaten here.
Still delicious
It's a pity that the service attitude is a bit poor this time
When he got to the counter, he pointed to a seat.
Tell us to go ourselves
As a result, there was only a table and half a chair.
Halfway through the meal, the waiter told us that there were no vegetables for the soup we wanted.
So we simply didn’t order soup.
But later when I checked out, the boss even included the price of the soup==
But as far as the food is concerned, it’s pretty good.
The salted grilled fish is a must!
Not too salty and tastes just right
You have to knock off the salt yourself! Pretty cool~
Not recommended to order sashimi
Not very fresh
Then a plate of 16 slices costs 450
Even though it's quite expensive, it doesn't have that value.
We also ordered grilled fish with soy sauce, sweet and sour chicken, pineapple shrimp balls, and golden sand tofu.
Basically everything is pretty good
If you don’t like eating too oily food, I don’t recommend Jinsha Tofu.
I really don’t know if I’m drinking oil or eating tofu.
The sweet and sour sauce is not bad. If you like it, you can try it.
The food is served pretty quickly
There is parking space outside the venue
It is recommended that you call first to reserve a table.
Otherwise, it will be very easy to get full and no seats available!
I heard that the characters on the salted grilled fish can be customized.
Very cool~
