The texture of the tofu pudding is relatively coarse, and the barley soup base is on the sweeter side, making it suitable for those who enjoy sweet foods, but the smoothness of the tofu pudding is somewhat below expectations.
The store has a lively shop dog, and the overall atmosphere is quite friendly. There are not many seats, and the space is relatively limited.
🚩Geographic Location🧭
Located near the intersection of Daming Road and Section 2 of Zhongxing Road in Dali District, Taichung City, across from Xinputi Hospital. If you’re lucky, you can find a parking spot on the sidewalk in front of the entrance.
🪑About the Overall Atmosphere🎡
The sign has a white background with black characters in a standard script that says "Port Tofu." The cooking area and ordering area are at the front, with about four tables for dine-in. Inside there is a store dog, a bulldog named Avocado, said to be very lively, but today it wasn’t very responsive. Mobile payment is supported.
💰About the Pricing💰
Barley Tofu + Peanuts $50
🍴About the Dishes☕
Since I have some preferences regarding tofu, I don’t drink broth that is made with brown sugar, and I also don’t eat hard peanuts, plus the barley has to be soft and mushy. So I made sure to clarify everything before ordering this bowl. Although they met my requirements, I found the barley broth to be on the sweeter side, and the tofu wasn’t very soft, feeling a bit coarse.
🤨Conclusion♥
Overall, I still prefer Tong Yuan Tofu, but this place has a store dog to play with, which adds a few extra points.
