☕️ The secret base of the locals in Kitakamakura! A must-order super delicious pizza toast!

Without a friend to invite you, the exterior of this shop might make you hesitant to enter. (But many of the old house coffee shops in the Kamakura area have this vibe—pushing open the door feels like intruding into someone’s home.)

Inside, the dim atmosphere clearly shows the marks of time, and the elderly owner is very friendly. The shop plays tastefully selected classical music. It feels like most of the customers are regulars, but they are all friendly aunties or quirky old uncles—it's a store that embodies the retro Showa era.

If you order coffee, it’s brewed using a siphon, which gives off a vintage feel that I really love. The coffee is deep-roasted in the old-style tea room way, with a bitterness that adds character in this environment.

You can pair the coffee with cake or toast as a set. I chose the toast set for 900 yen, while my friend ordered the cheesecake set for 800 yen. The toast is super fluffy, with a generous amount of cheese that stretches, and it comes with fresh tomatoes instead of ketchup—simple but absolutely delightful!

Before we left, the owner asked where we were from, and upon learning we were from Taiwan, he encouraged us with a "Go Taiwan!" 😂 It really takes courage to step into an old house in the Kamakura area, but this place is a great guide for that!
