The various flavors of the meatballs showcase a handmade quality, especially the taro flavor, which has a soft texture and rich aroma. The cilantro flavor is fresh and unique, while the mushroom flavor is slightly mild but still fragrant. The original flavor is a safe choice, with no particular surprises.
There are many guests on site, and the atmosphere is lively.
The boss has a distinctive personality, is friendly towards customers, and additionally provides soup dumplings, which makes people feel generous.
Xingrui Handmade Meatballs is one of the stalls in the Tainan Wei Market. When I bought the meatballs, it felt quite popular. All flavors of meatballs are sold for 90 NT dollars per half kilogram, which is considered a medium to slightly high price, but since there were crowds passing by, I thought I’d give it a try.
There were quite a few people on-site. When I bought mine, another customer was asking about the spicy flavor meatballs, but the owner said they were still being cooked and would take a while. I didn’t want to wait, so I ended up buying four flavors: cilantro, taro, shiitake mushroom, and original. To be honest, these meatballs performed quite well and truly lived up to the name "handmade." You could really taste the aroma of the ingredients, especially the taro flavor, where the taro pieces were noticeable, soft in texture, and not overpowering, really highly recommended! The cilantro flavor had a hint of refreshing fragrance, which was quite unique. The shiitake mushroom flavor was slightly milder but still very fragrant. As for the original flavor, it was probably the most conservative choice, lacking any special surprises but definitely not disappointing.
Speaking of the owner, there was a funny incident that day. At one point, a lady was continuously asking questions in front of the stall, and the owner, probably getting fed up, directly replied, "If you're not satisfied, don't buy!" The whole place fell silent instantly. When it was my turn to buy, the owner's attitude was quite friendly. He even packed two large bags of soup for me to take home, which felt quite generous. It seems the owner has a strong personality.
