The mille-feuille cakes at Jiugu Coffee come in various types, with the tiramisu mille-feuille cake and black sesame cheesecake both having rich flavors that are surprising and particularly favored by the elders.
The café is located inside the Lanyang Museum and shares an open seating space with other shops, making it a suitable place to take a break and enjoy afternoon tea when you feel tired from shopping.
Jiugu Coffee is a café inside the LanYang Museum. The seating area in the museum follows a mixed-use store open space model, sharing seating with the adjacent shops, which means there are no minimum spending requirements.
Their signature items are layered cakes, with plenty of flavors to choose from. This time, I ordered the tiramisu layered cake, which has an alcoholic flavor; it's quite rich and has a nice texture. I previously had the opportunity to try the black sesame cheesecake, which isn’t something I would normally order just by the name, but I was pleasantly surprised by its rich flavor without being too sweet, and my elders really enjoyed it.
Overall, it’s quite nice, though the prices are a bit high. If you’re tired from visiting the museum and want to take a break for some afternoon tea, this is a good place to go. There's also a shop on the second floor of the Wushi Harbor Station across the street, and I've heard their cake flavors are quite different, so I’ll try to give it a go if I have the chance.
